HOOK-A-DUCK This little hoopla stall is arguably one of the finest surviving examples of a Fred Fowle-painted sidestall left. It was bought by John Carter from a showman many years ago, and is now operated by Joby Carter. Originally the Darts Game, it now holds that famous fairground staple, Hook-a-Duck. It underwent an overhaul in 2010, and the trellises along the top were remade, skinned in aluminium and repainted to match the originals. Unfortunately a lot of the paintwork on vintage fairground rides of the 50s and 60s was on plywood which delaminates over time. |
